Mike D'Addario Celebrates the One Year Anniversary of His Return to mk North America
mk North America, an industry leading factory automation provider that specializes in high quality and state of the art conveyor solutions for both the food and industrial industries, is incredibly proud to celebrate Mike D'Addario's one year anniversary with the organization. D'Addario rejoined the mk family on May 5, 2014 as Production and Operations Manager.
D'Addario originally began work for mk in September of 2005, when he joined the engineering department. During that portion of his career he was in charge of CAD management, the design of custom conveyors and more. He would eventually go on to become an Engineering Manager. Thanks to his robust and well-rounded background and his top notch CAD skills, he routinely led the charge on the most complex and custom orders that came through the mk offices. D'Addario eventually left mk to take a prestigious role at Cross Brothers in September of 2012.
When asked about how he feels to be celebrating the one year anniversary of his return to the organization, D'Addario indicated that "mk has a very mature base and an aggressive growth curve. Now more than ever, management is investing strategically in personnel, capital equipment and the expansion of key product offerings. This is the recipe for exciting potential." He would go on to add that "I am thrilled to be a part of this team and can't wait to see where this investment takes us!"
D'Addario attended trade school to become an electrician and worked at a wide range of different jobs before getting into the field of automation. Prior to his arrival in the industry, he owned his own landscaping company, worked as a millwright, found himself gainfully employed as a service technician, held a position as a metal fabricator and more. His first experience in the automation industry was with Plastic Automation Exchange, which was a company that was later purchased by Sterling Robotics. After leaving Sterling, D'Addario went to work for InjectTech Engineering. This was where he got his start in the CAD field. D'Addario originally joined the mk team when InjectTech went out of business.
During his original employment with mk, D'Addario's experience and ability to relate to customers eventually brought him into the sales department. It was here that he designed and sold custom conveyors to clients all over the United States. After leaving mk to work for Cross Brothers, he was a Project Engineering Manager on a contract capacity for a commercial bakery. Since Cross Brothers went out of business in the fall of 2013, Mike had been doing work for mk on a freelance basis. He was officially hired back as a full time employee on May 5, 2014.
During the past year of D'Addario's relationship with mk, he and Chad Cormier, former Production and Operations Manager, have used their passion and dedication to nearly eliminate warranty issues across the board. He has also developed and implemented a new state of the art project scheduling tool that allows for better workflow in production and helps increase on-time shipments. One of his primary goals moving forward is to strive for the strategical optimization of mk's personnel while meeting and exceeding the goals of mk's ownership.
