Pallet Transfer Systems

AI Growth Keeps Production and Supply Chain Moving

Artificial Intelligence, the use of computer systems to perform functions once only possible by humans, is becoming a powerful tool for everyday life. From real-time traffic maps to improve commute times, to uploading a check using your bank’s mobile app – the applications for AI are endless.

Integrating Pallet Conveyors and Robotics for Automated Manufacturing

A3 Pallet Conveyor

Automation and the use of robotics in the manufacturing industry isn’t a new concept, but the market is seeing explosive growth in recent years thanks to advancements in robotic technology. The American factory is now working more efficiently and effectively as automated solutions enter the workforce.

What Is a Conveyor? Overview with Video

Conveyors move bulk materials (lumpy or granular materials in a free-flowing form) or discrete products (individual products such as single widgets or packaged items) from one area to another, and serve as main material handling arteries to improve efficiency and throughput. Advances in materials, controls, and modular sub-components have spurred new large conveyors for bulk material transport, miniature conveyors for discrete sorting, and everything in between.

Pallet Conveyor Systems & The Future of the Robotics Industry

STEM - mk North America

The robotics industry in America is stronger than ever, and poised to grow faster than ever.

According to the Robotics Industries Association (RIA), the North American robotics market set a new all-time record in the first half of 2016, with 14,583 robots worth $817 million ordered in the region.

“The robotics industry is thriving today as more companies of all sizes are realizing the benefits of automation,” said Jeff Burnstein, President of RIA, in a statement.

The bulk of the American robotics boom is attributed in increasing automation in the automotive industries, food and consumer goods, inspection, assembly, spot welding, general manufacturing, and more.

Conveyors play a vital, and often overlooked, function in today’s manufacturing plant. Whether the facility is manufacturing circuit boards, truck transmissions or the latest high protein energy bar – you are sure to find conveyors. Whether carrying raw parts or bringing finished assemblies into the shipping and palletizing areas, conveyors are used at every stage of production and assembly. Conveyors can be used for bulk handling, or for more specialized processes – such as back-lit conveyors for vision inspection or vacuum conveyors for product placement. Conveyors can be auxiliary equipment or they can provide a crucial function, such as indexing conveyors feeding upstream processes.
